RIVER CRUISE ON THE IRRAWADY

When Burma is visited, to go on a cruise on the river " king " of the country, Irrawady is an occasion not to fail.

The group Barani Cruise & Trading Ltd places at the disposal of the travellers two boats, the IRRAWADY PRINCESS I which count 30 rooms and the IRRAWADY PRINCESS II which counts 20 rooms, to carry out the course between Mandalay, the last capital of the kingdom of Burma and Bagan, the old capital of the 9th century.

These two boats can be reserved in their totality (charter).

They carry out also cruisings in High Burma, between Bhamo, Mandalay and Bagan. 11 days cruisings.

RV PAUKAN

Paukan is the ancient name of Bagan, the old city of two thousand temples on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River.

RV Paukan was built in 2007 at the Myanmar Shipyards in Yangon for Ayravata Cruises. The Yangon River and its dockyards were commented upon over two hundred years ago as "the most favourable river in the world for naval architecture" by the first British envoy to Myanmar Captain Michael Symes of His Britannic Majesty's 7th Regiment who arrived in Yangon in February of 1795.

RV PANDAW

The Pandaw is an original colonial era boat, constructed in 1947.

The famous shipbuilding company of Yarrow & Co. of Clyde on the River in Glasgow built the Pandaw for the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company. Arriving in Myanmar in 1950, under the ownership of the Inland Water Transport Board (IWTB) she ran on the Irrawaddy River from Mandalay to Bahmo, one of the most popular routes on this great river.

She began a luxury life as a passenger cruiser in 1989, under the management of a new Irrawaddy Flotilla Company and was taken over in 2003 by Ayravata Cruises after extensive renovations and refurbishing.
